Beer Today, Gone Tomorrow: Beer workers strike over…beer?

We couldn’t make this up if we tried…

From Copenhagen:

Their daily ration of free Carlsberg is no small beer for employees of the Danish brewer who are now blocking deliveries to force management to turn the taps back on.

“Around 250 of our workers and drivers are on strike at our warehouse in Hoeje-Taastrup, just outside of Copenhagen,” Carlsberg’s communications director Jens Bekke said.

Angered over management cutting their daily free beer ration from three bottles to one, the warehouse employees went on strike on Wednesday and were joined by the drivers.

But at least the drivers drive safely:

In case you’re wondering, drivers of the Carlsberg delivery trucks (who still get the three additional beers per day) must pass a breathalyzer test every time they get behind the wheel.

Who says unions don’t have their priorities straight?
